The celebration of June 14th, 2015 in the cathedral of Niame

There has been a great participation of various communities from the diocese and elsewhere: Maradi, Burkina-Faso, Benin Republic and France. Christians were eager to intensely live this communion and "recover " from January 2015's attack.
The ceremony was preceded with a triddum for its preparation, last day prayers were said in the cathedral. The three-hour peaceful mass of  Sunday June 14, 2015 reminded participants of the Church's mission in Niger.
Bishop Michel Cartatéguy, sma was thanked for all he has given to the Church and to the society of Niger. The transmission of the pastoral stick was a moving and simple moment. The greeting and the obedience of the priests to Mgr. Laurent certainly marked the celebration. The Muslim community came to greet the new archbishop.
The small mustard seed is sowed in the ground of Niger, as we work to grow the Kingdom of God.

Mauro Armanino, niamey June 2015.
