Jubile FolmerFather Jean-Baptiste Folmer of the province of Strasbourg celebrates his 100th birthday. On this occasion, the Superior General, Father Antonio Porcellato, sent him his wishes on behalf of the whole Society. In view of the health crisis of Covid-19, this jubilee will be celebrated on 08 December 2020 at the retirement home of the African Missions in Saint-Pierre where Fr. Jean Baptiste resides.

Here is the message of the Superior General:

"Very dear Fr. John, you are 100 years of age! Our best wishes for a happy birthday in the Lord! You are also the elder of the entire Society of African Missions and today all its members (Bishops, Priests, Brothers, Temporary Members, and Honorary Members), about a thousand people scattered across all continents, look to you and rejoice with you.

We join you in thanking the Lord for the gift of a long life, marked by 73 years of missionary priesthood. You have served young people with great enthusiasm and energy, in teaching and animation, in Togo, Haguenau, and the Moselle. Due to the lockdown because of coronavirus, a proper celebration is postponed to a later date, but know that today you are in our prayers and in our thanksgiving here at the general house in Rome. May the Lord continue to fill you with His peace and joy all the years you now begin to count again.”
