Presentation Sisters

The community of the Franciscan Sisters of the Presentation at the SMA Generalate in Rome.

The SMA community at Nocetta, Rome has been collaborating with the Franciscan sisters of the Presentation of Mary since 1986.

The Presentation Sisters, as they are fondly called, is a congregation of religious sisters founded in 1853 by Rev. Fr. Joseph Louis Ravel MEP. Fr Joseph Louis Ravel was a priest in Coimbatore at the time when the Founder of the SMA, the Servant of God Bishop de Marion Brésillac was a bishop there. It was Bishop de Marion Brésillac who requested Fr. Ravel to found an indigenous congregation of Religious Sisters, before leaving India in 1854, having resigned his position as Bishop of Coimbatore.

The Presentation Sisters assist the SMA Community at Nocetta in the smooth running of the house: Reception, Dinning, Chapel and Liturgy, Hygiene and Upkeep, among others.

At the moment, there are five Presentation Sisters at the Nocetta community:

Sr. Rita, Superior, Sr. Dany, Sr. Gracy, Sr Rani and Sr Jacintha (student)
